Financial advisor to Finansiel Stabilitet in the sale of FinansService to Lindorff

Finansiel Stabilitet became owner of FinansService when EBH Bank was taken over. In line with the policy of not being long term owners of acquired assets, Finansiel Stabilitet pursued a divestment of FinansService in an open and transparent process, where ATRIUM acted as exclusive financial advisor to execute the sale.

FinansService acquires, owns and collects non-performing loans and was a market leader in Denmark. The company had at the end of 2009 approx. 200 employees in Denmark and Germany and total assets with a book value of DKK 478 m, primarily consisting of portfolios of non-performing loans. A key success criterion for the sales process was to obtain a valuation on the company, which not only reflected the value of the owned portfolios but also the value of future business opportunities.

Via thorough analysis and detailed description of the business model and debt portfolios combined with a very broad, international and competitive sales process, the sale was executed on time and with satisfactory terms.

Lindorff, which was owned by Altor and Investor, became Nordic market leader as a result of the acquisition.
