Advisor to Biogasclean in the sale to CycleØ, a portfolio company of Ara Partners
ATRIUM acted as exclusive financial advisor to Biogasclean in the sale to CycleØ, a portfolio company of Ara Partners.
Biogasclean is a Danish provider of leading solutions within biological methanation and desulfurization of biogas and CO2. Biogasclean develops, manufactures, and supplies fully automated gas treatment systems combining low operating costs with high availability. The company has five offices across three continents and a track record comprising +340 plants in operation or under construction in +40 countries. Biogasclean’s groundbreaking technology for biological methanation enables the conversion of naturally occurring CO2 in biogas to e-methane, thereby increasing biomethane production by ~70% and reducing greenhouse gas emissions at sites.
CycleØ is a pan-European biomethane platform that develops, builds, owns and operates renewable natural gas (RNG) projects across Europe and Latin America. The company currently has sites in planning and operation in Spain, Italy, and Ireland – with ambitions to build, own and operate at least 50 plants by 2028.
Since 2022, CycleØ has been backed by Ara Partners, a global private equity and infrastructure investment firm focused on industrial decarbonization. Founded in 2017, Ara Partners seeks to build and scale companies with significant decarbonization impact across industries.
The strategic acquisition is a significant milestone for CycleØ. The addition of Biogasclean’s leading experience and technologies completes the biomethane loop of CycleØ and will enable the company to provide efficient and fully circular solutions via its own sites as well as sales to other biomethane producers.
