Advisor to Interdan group in the acquisition of Citroën Denmark

ATRIUM advised the Interdan group in the acquisition of Citroën Denmark, which distributes the Citroën and DS brands, from the PSA group.

Interdan is a leading importer of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles, which are distributed in Denmark, Sweden and the Baltics. Interdan distributes vehicles and spare parts from the brands Peugeot, Mitsubishi and Chevrolet through both mono-brand and multi-brand dealers.

The import of Citroën and DS in Denmark has – until the closing of the transaction – been directly controlled by the PSA group, which develops and manufactures Peugeot, Citroën and DS vehicles. The divestment of the Danish activities is part of the PSA group’s strategy to focus its distribution activities and thereby engage with strong local partners in relation to the import in selected markets.

The transaction was structured as a controlled auction with participation from a number of potential buyers. The selection of Interdan as future partner with the PSA group regarding Citroën and DS is based on a strong track record and an attractive plan for the continued strengthening of the Citroën and DS brands and commercialisation in the Danish market.
